5 Highlights of Lofoten from Svolvær

We begin in Svolvær, welcoming you to our travel lounge located right in the city center. Grab a coffee or a tea as the guide goes over the weather forecast. When we are ready, we move to the minibus to start our exploration of the area. Grab a seat and enjoy the stunning views as our professional driver takes you along the epic roads of Lofoten in a comfortable 15-seater minibus.

We head southwest towards the neighboring village of Kabelvåg, home of the independent Nordland Art and Film School. We stop to visit the fascinating cruciform-style Lofoten Cathedral, the largest wooden building in Northern Norway.

Next, we drive along the coastline until we reach the picturesque town of Henningsvær. A picture-perfect place built upon islets and reefs against the backdrop of gorgeous mountains and home to the world's most unique soccer field.

We continue our journey along the coastline to the sandy beach of Unstad. A place where perfect barrels roll in, surrounded by a beautiful arctic environment. The backbone of surfing culture in Northern Norway and host of the northernmost surf contest in the world. After, we head to stunning Haukland beach, an Arctic paradise made of Caribbean-looking waters nestled under a mountainous landscape.

We top it all off by visiting the large fishing harbor of Ballstad. The charming fishing village in the middle of the Lofoten archipelago with an iconic mountain as its backdrop. Along the way, we take one long break to enjoy a delicious picnic lunch, plus several stops for leg stretching and photos of the marvelous landscape.
